06. A Note about HTML
A Note about HTML
You're about to see some HTML. Why?
This course is meant to teach you JavaScript. JavaScript is the programming language used to make websites come alive. It often does so by manipulating a website's HTML. In this course, you'll be making a website by writing JavaScript that writes HTML.
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. HyperText is a word that's meant to sound cool, when in fact it just means text. Markup means that HTML text is used to describe something more complex - a website! Moving lines of HTML around is, in some ways, like moving paragraphs around in a book.
The code you're going to be writing will simply inject new lines of HTML text to a document.
